Ukraine severs diplomatic ties with Russia
Ukraine has decided to sever all diplomatic ties with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a tweet on Thursday.
Zelenskyy also appealed to Russians to stage protests against Moscow's decision to send troops into Ukraine.
"For all those who have not yet lost their conscience in Russia, it is time to go out and protest against the war with Ukraine," the Ukrainian President wrote on Twitter

NATO envoys convene emergency session to discuss Russian invasion of Ukraine
Hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops into eastern Ukraine, NATO envoys convened an emergency session on Thursday to discuss the situation.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement, "This is a grave breach of international law, and a serious threat to Euro-Atlantic security."
NATO allies are meeting to "address the consequences of Russia's aggressive actions," Stoltenberg said, adding that Russia's "widespread aggression is a threat to the entire world and to all NATO countries".

China dismisses Russian military action in Ukraine as 'invasion
Hua Chunying, a spokeswoman for the Chinese foreign ministry, dismissed a foreign journalist's description of Russian military action in Ukraine as an "invasion".
Addressing a regular daily briefing on Thursday, Chunying said China has called for "all parties involved" in the Ukraine situation to "exercise restraint".
