On May 18, when there was a quarrel between the two over some issue, Aftab Amin Poonawalla strangled Shraddha to death. He cut the body into 35 pieces and bought a fridge to keep it. Perhaps while reading this story of cruelty, you will remember some crime series on Netflix. For the next 18 days, Aftab would leave the house after midnight and throw Shraddha's body parts at different places in Delhi. It is said that after going about 2 km, he threw pieces of dead bodies into the forest so the animals could eat them.
Met in Mumbai, fled to Delhi
This story starts in Mumbai. 26-year-old Shraddha used to work in the call centre of a multinational company. It was here that he met Poonawalla. The two started dating and started spending more time together. The family members did not accept their relationship, so they came to Delhi without informing them. Here he took a flat in the Mehrauli area and started living. It was fine for some time, but then a quarrel started regarding marriage. Shraddha wanted Aftab to get married, but she was not ready.
On the other hand, Shraddha had stopped receiving phone calls from her family members. On November 8, her father, Vikas Madan, reached Delhi to inquire about his daughter's condition. When he came to the flat, the door was locked. He approached Mehrauli police and complained of kidnapping. Based on his complaint, the police arrested Poonawalla on Saturday. During the investigation, he said that the two started fighting because Shraddha wanted to marry him. Police have registered a murder case and started searching for Shraddha's body.
