Drunk Soldiers Caught Having Sex Inside £7.3 Million Apache Helicopter at UK Military Base

Joe Harris

In an unusual and controversial incident at a UK military training area, maintenance staff discovered two intoxicated soldiers engaging in sexual activity inside an Apache helicopter. The chopper, valued at €8.5 million (£7.3 million) and armed with 30mm cannons and Hellfire missiles, belonged to the Army Air Corps' 653 Squadron, though the soldiers were from a different unit.

Unusual Rotor Movements Lead to Discovery

The incident came to light during a routine nighttime maintenance check. Ground staff had finished servicing the attack helicopter when they noticed its rotors making unexpected movements and heard strange noises emanating from the aircraft. Upon inspection, they found a male soldier in uniform and a female civilian partially undressed in the helicopter's rear cockpit, engaged in sexual activity.

According to a report filed with the Military Aviation Authority, both individuals displayed clear signs of intoxication.

Immediate Action Taken

The maintenance team ordered the pair to exit the cockpit and get dressed. The report stated, "It became apparent that the rear cockpit was occupied by two people engaged in sexual intercourse. Both were naked from the waist down—the male in uniform, the female in civilian attire."

The soldiers were detained until their parent unit and the chain of command from 653 Squadron were notified and arrived at the scene.

Serious Breach of Protocol

The Apache helicopter is one of the most advanced combat aircraft in the British Army’s arsenal, with a price tag of over ₹75 crore. Its use in this inappropriate and unprofessional manner raises serious questions about discipline and security protocols within the military.

No official statement has been made regarding potential disciplinary actions against the soldiers involved. The Military Aviation Authority is reportedly investigating the incident further.

This bizarre episode has sparked significant media attention and criticism, highlighting the importance of maintaining professionalism in military operations.
