Rahul Dravid, Team India’s head coach, praised the young Indian players for their performance in the white-ball series against the West Indies.
After thrashing the West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series, India thrashed them 3-0 in the three-match T20I series. On Sunday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India defeated the Kieron Pollard-led side by 17 runs in the last T20I. In the first T20I, India defeated West Indies by six wickets, followed by an eight-run victory in a nail-biting second encounter. Harshal Patel surprised the opposition hitters in the series with his slower and yorker deliveries.
In the middle overs, debutant Ravi Bihsnoi complemented YuzvendraChahal, recording the best economy rate of 6.33 among Indian bowlers.
VenkateshIyer, an all-rounder, came in helpful in the lower-middle order, scoring 92 runs in three innings with a strike rate of 184. Suryakumar Yadav was named series MVP after scoring 107 runs in the series at an average of 53.50, the most by an Indian batter in the series. After returning from the South Africa tour, in which India lost both the ODI and Test series, Dravid stated that it was a learning experience for him as a coach. The Indian head coach also remarked how amazing it was for the team to win back-to-back games.
