Jamie Carragher gave his verdict after Premier League champions Manchester City signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for £51m, and title rivals Liverpool agreed an £85m deal for Benfica's Darwin Nunez.
Jamie Carragher says he is concerned about how Erling Haaland will fit into Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. However, he believes it is "fantastic" that the striker is coming to the Premier League. Sky Sports pundit Carragher says the Norway international can make a difference in big matches for Man City, but how he fits into the team's style of play will be necessary.
Pep Guardiola hasn't used a central striker over the years, and he's still very successful.
So, it will be exciting to see how he settles down, but from a Premier League point of view, I think it's fantastic that we've got one of the world's leading players joining our league right now. England and Tottenham striker Harry Kane says the signing of Manchester City's Erling Haaland and the addition of Darwin Nunez to Liverpool will help them improve their competition for the Premier League Golden Boot. It doesn't always happen, certainly at a young age, and many of his best years will be in the Premier League.
"So, it will be exciting for everyone to watch, but it will be difficult to stop Manchester City."
