The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a U.S. embassy in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. Iraqi security officials say three rockets were fired at the US embassy. Two of the rockets landed near the embassy, while one landed on a school in the area. A woman and a child were injured in the rocket attack, military officials said. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The U.S. military says a car bomb had exploded at the Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Mosul. The attacks took place two years after the incident.
It was not immediately clear if there were any casualties in the attack. Earlier in the day, a series of attacks targeted US troops in Iraq and Syria.
According to sources, a number of attacks have taken place this month targeting the US embassy in Iraq. The United States has blamed Iran-linked militia groups for some of the attacks.
