Russia may begin a fresh onslaught on February 24, as Moscow seeks to overshadow war anniversary

Ukraine's Defense Minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, believes Russia would start a fresh attack on the one-year anniversary of the invasion on February 24.

Reznikov told a French TV network on Wednesday that Ukraine's armed forces are bracing for fresh, large-scale military action from Russia in the coming weeks.

"Given that they [the Russians] live in symbolism, we believe they will attempt something around February 24," Reznikov said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated on Thursday that his nation had plans to overshadow pro-Ukrainian gatherings throughout the globe to commemorate the first anniversary of the conflict, stating that Russian diplomats were working on something to guarantee that Western-led events were "not the only ones to grab the world's attention," without elaborating.

However, in Ukraine, search and rescue teams worked all night to locate any survivors of a fatal rocket strike on residential structures in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, yesterday night. On Thursday, further explosions were heard throughout the city.
