'A blatant provocation,' says Russian diplomat on possible tank delivery

Washington's planned delivery of combat tanks to Ukraine will be "another blatant provocation" against Russia, according to Anatoly Antonov, Russia's ambassador to the US.

"It is clear that Washington is attempting to impose a strategic loss on us on intentionally," Antonov said in remarks posted on the embassy's Telegram messaging app.

"If the United States decides to send tanks, then justifying such a measure with arguments about 'defence weaponry' will surely not work. This would be another another flagrant provocation towards the Russian Federation. This would be another another blatant provocation directed towards the Russian Federation."
