From May 13 to June 2, 780 cases of monkeypox were reported in 27 countries across the four divisions of the World Health Organization (WHO). According to the United Nations Department of Health, gynecologists investigate the disease. Among the patients found so far, the disease has been reported due to sexual health and other health reasons. Men's sexual relations with men have been cited as one of the primary reasons.
This is confirmed by examining patient samples found in West Africa. The investigation found that most infected citizens had travelled to countries in Europe and North America rather than West and Central Africa, where the monkeypox virus is endemic. According to the World Health Organization, patients are currently being found in Cameroon and Nigeria in West Africa.
